I was co-opted to the Te Pākihi o Maru Board in 2022 and I'm proud to have been re-elected in 2025. I have one child currently attending Te Pākihi o Maru and another who finished last year.
I enjoy being involved in the school community and supporting the ongoing growth and success of Te Pākihi o Maru. I value the strong sense of whānau, connection, and belonging that makes the kura so special.
It is a privilege to serve on the Board of Trustees as the staff representative for Te Pākihi o Maru. Having been part of our school community for 3 years as a teacher, SENCO and tumuaki tuarua, I am passionate about bringing the day-to-day realities and creative energy of our classrooms directly into board-level decisions.
My role on the board is to offer a grounded, authentic perspective on how strategic policies impact our students and staff on the ground. I aim to ensure our teaching staff feels supported, heard, and empowered to deliver the best possible learning environment for every student.
I am always open to hearing ideas and feedback from our staff and community. Please feel free to say hi or ask questions when you see me around the school!
Kia ora, I'm Nathan.
I've owned and operated Appliance Plus Oamaru for the past 15 years and I'm proud to call Oamaru home. I'm a local dad - my daughter attends Te Pākihi o Maru - and like any parent, I want the best for our kids and our school community.
I'm community-focused and believe in giving back where I can. For me it's about strong family values, looking after each other, and keeping it local.
I'm committed to supporting our teachers, our families, and ensuring every child at Te Pākihi o Maru has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
